DeCA to Begin Daily Coronavirus Screening of Staff Starting May 8

May 4, 2020

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) announced it will start screening all store employees before starting their shift, according to a recent press release.

“Military resale is good at evolving and adapting. Screening the people who work in our stores is the first step in a new normal that helps reduce the risk of transmission for everyone. We should expect to operate like this for the foreseeable future.” said Rear Adm. (retired) Robert J. Bianchi, DOD Special Assistant for Commissary Operations.

Other safety measures enacted by the agency include required face masks for anyone entering a store, plexiglass shields, and touchless credit card processing.
