New, Ongoing Military Installation Construction Projects

Fort Drum received over $21 million for a new unmanned aerial vehicle hangar. “The hangar will modernize Fort Drum’s base infrastructure, expand capabilities available on base and boost the north country economy,” said New York Senators in a statement, NNY 360 reports. The funding was acquired through the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act.

The Fort Rucker community celebrated the opening of Ellis D. Parker Elementary School, WDHN reports. Students will return to the classroom on Oct. 1.

Officials at The Ellsworth Development Authority approved a resolution Monday to work towards creating a $12 million dollar joint-community base recreation center at Ellsworth Air Force Base, KNBN reports.
