Paul Cramer, principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for sustainment announced that the remaining four remaining privatized housing tenant rights will come by summer, Military Times reports.

“This represents a fundamental step in our ongoing effort to improve the department’s military housing program,” said Cramer in a testimony before the House Appropriations Committee’s panel on military construction, veterans affairs and related agencies.

The remaining four housing rights include a process for tenants to resolve disputes with their landlords, the right to withhold rent during disputes, common forms and documents for all housing tenants, and access to the maintenance history for housing units.

In June of 2020,  DoD officials announced that 14 of the 18 tenant bill of rights had been implemented in privatized housing communities. The tenant bill of rights was required by law in the fiscal 2020 National Defense Authorization Act.
