The state of North Carolina is in the process of transferring a former National Guard armory in Morehead City to Carteret Health Care, which will use the facility as a helipad for moving patients to and from its hospital across the street, the Carteret County News-Times reported. The Guard already allows the hospital’s choppers to launch and land, but the hospital wants to build a more permanent structure….

Some Army & Air Force Exchange Service shoppers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio got a surprise when the nonprofit Pay Away the Layaway paid their layaway balances. A news story from the Army & Air Force Exchange Service said NBA star Gordon Hayward made a donation to fully pay off 132 layaway balances, a total of almost $40,000.
