DOD Climate Plan Expected by Labor Day

July 20, 2021

The Pentagon will release its climate change and installation resilience strategy by Sept. 1, Paul Cramer, acting assistant secretary of defense for sustainment told lawmakers recently.

“The primary purpose is to integrate climate change adaptation and climate resilience across our programs, management of real property, our public lands and waters and financial services,” Cramer said, as Federal News Network reported.

Cramer said the plan will address climate-informed decision-making, developing a climate-ready workforce, resilient infrastructure, supply chain innovation and increased collaboration.

President Joe Biden ordered development of such a plan early in his administration.
