Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is expanding the state Guard’s mission to patrol the U.S.-Mexico border at the same time the Guard is forced to cut tuition benefits because of state budget cuts, Army Times reported….

More than 90,000 people have submitted suggestions for the new name of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, according to WRAL. The site is one of several installations named for Confederate leaders. Congress ordered those facilities to be renamed….

Netflix plans to convert almost 300 acres of the former Fort Monmouth, New Jersey into a production hub, The Hill reported. “Governor [Phil] Murphy (D) and the state’s legislative leaders have created a business environment that’s welcomed film and television production back to the state, and we’re excited to submit our bid to transform Fort Monmouth into a state-of-the-art production facility,” Netflix said….

United Airlines has added nonstop flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Waynesville-St. Robert Regional Airport near Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, according to KY3. “Service members and military families will be able to travel more efficiently, reducing cost for… DOD and improving the quality of life,” said Sustainable Ozarks Partnership Executive Director Dorsey Newcomb.
