Air Force Chief of Staff’s Wife Publishes Quality of Life Guide

December 22, 2021

Sharene Brown, spouse of Air Force Chief of Staff Charles “CQ” Brown Jr., announced a “Five and Thrive” initiative to address what she sees as the top five quality of life issues facing airmen’s and Guardians’ families. She developed the plan with her Thrive Team, a group of spouses, according to an Air Force press release.

She published a digital Thrive guide with information on child care, education, health care, housing and spouse employment. Brown also publishes a monthly situation report for spouses on DOD actions that impact their families.

“These actions and policies taking place at the highest levels are not always readily communicated to our spouses and families,” Brown said in the release. “Sharing this information directly to our spouses is vital to their continued support. Military spouses are essential to the success and strength of our force and should be included in those quality-of-life discussions.”
