Air Force Reports 97% Vaccination Rate; About 9,000 Exempted or Missed Deadline

December 6, 2021

More than a month after the Air Force’s deadline for active duty airmen and Guardians to be vaccinated, almost 9,000 remain unvaccinated, the service reported Friday, as Stars and Stripes reported. But more than 97% of the service’s active duty members have complied.

Of those unvaccinated, more than 1,300 have received medical or administrative exemptions. The Air Force has not approved any religious exemptions so far. Many exemptions are still pending.

Air Force reservists had a Dec. 2 deadline to be fully vaccinated, and about 94% had been by Friday morning.
