Judge Blocks Vaccine Mandate for Federal Contractors

December 8, 2021

A federal judge has blocked the Biden administration from requiring that all employees of federal contractors get COVID-19 vaccines. The Tuesday ruling from a Georgia court applies in every state, AP reported.

“[E]ven in times of crisis this court must preserve the rule of law and ensure that all branches of government act within the bounds of their constitutionally granted authorities,” the judge wrote.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the Justice Department will appeal, saying that the administration is confident vaccine mandates are effective and legal.
