All seven of Silver Valley Unified School District’s schools have been designated as California Purple Star Schools, according to a press release from the district. The program, in its inaugural year, recognizes schools that best support military-connected students and families. Silver Valley USD serves military families from the National Training Center, Fort Irwin and Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow.
