The Army has agreed to pay $1.5 million to restore environmental damage from the former Fort Wingate, New Mexico, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported….

The Department of Veterans Affairs has selected five communities where it will pilot a program providing service dog training to help veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, VA said in a press release. The program, initiated by a law signed last year, will roll out at medical centers in Anchorage, Alaska; Asheville, North Carolina; Palo Alto, California; San Antonio, Texas; and West Palm Beach, Florida. Participating veterans will get to train potential future service dogs as part of their treatment.
