DOD’s Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation has awarded $96 million to replace an elementary school at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. “This grant keeps faith with service members, improves the quality of education for defense-connected students, aids in the recruitment and retention of vital skills at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and enhances partnerships between the communities and the installation,” DOD said in a news release….

Seven California school districts are recruiting educators through the California Coalition Heroes to Education Career Expo, an online event taking place May 4. They are specifically targeting veterans, Guard members, reservists, military spouses and those leaving military service in the next six months.
