Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia has become the first installation in DOD to achieve the net-zero energy efficiency milestone, according to a Marine Corps story. “This is tremendous work by everyone on base,” Commanding Officer Col. Michael Fitzgerald said. “The base can be self-reliant in terms of energy with the resources we have available. The taxpayer gets a break.”…

Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia and Dominion Energy have completed a substation upgrade project that is part of a long-standing partnership between Dominion and the Air Force, the Williamsburg Yorktown Daily reported. The upgrade will decrease the number and duration of power outages, especially during hurricane season and peak summer usage….

The Pew Charitable Trust’s “After the Fact” podcast takes a look at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Pew describes it as “a successful partnership for climate resilience among leaders working to protect coastal habitats and oceans, the intersection with national defense, and the legacy of Harriet Tubman.”
