A new $270 million package of security aid the U.S. said Friday it is sending to Ukraine will include more medium range rocket systems, tactical drones and ammunition, as AP reported.
It brings the total security and economic assistance the U.S. has sent so far to Ukraine to $8.2 billion. Congress has authorized up to $40 billion.
“The president has been clear that we’re going to continue to support the government of Ukraine and its people for as long as it takes,” said John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications.
