Top Army Leaders Go Back to School to Push Recruitment

November 14, 2022

Three senior Army leaders have been fanning out across the country to talk with students and school officials as the service has struggled to connect with Gen Z, Military.com reported.

Army Secretary Christine Wormuth met with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s superintendent and was scheduled to visit Texas. Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville was in Georgia last week. Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston visited the University of New Haven in Connecticut and a public high school in Columbus, Ohio.

“This is about getting to know the Army,” Grinston, told Military.com. “This is about saying who we are and debunking myths about service.”
