Fort Polk, Louisiana is placing eight electric vehicle solar chargers across the installation to support 19 non-tactical electric vehicles procured last year, according to an Army story….

The Virginia National Guard will officially redesignate Fort Pickett as Fort Barfoot in a March 24 ceremony, the Guard said in an announcement. The installation is one of several being renamed because their current names honor Confederate leaders. “It is such a tremendous honor to name an installation where military forces train to defend our freedoms in honor of Col. Van. T Barfoot,” said Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the adjutant general of Virginia. “His magnificent military career was marked by heroism and decades of selfless service to our nation, and his legacy will serve as an inspiration for current and future generations of service members.” Barfoot was a World War II Medal of Honor recipient with strong Virginia ties.
