Maj. Gen. Konata Crumbly became the first Black commander of the Georgia Air National Guard this week, WSB reported. “I’m not the first African American qualified, but I’m the first that was given the opportunity,” Crumbly said….

Civilian families who were impacted by the Red Hill fuel leak in Honolulu are “furious” with tax bills they are getting now for when the Navy reimbursed them for hotel stays, Hawaii News Now reported. The reimbursements were reported to the IRS as income. “The government failed us once, twice and now once again,” one resident said. DOD confirmed to Hawaii News Now that the payments are considered income but said it was consulting with the Treasury Department.
