Biden Picks Gen. Eric Smith to Lead Marine Corps

President Biden nominated the Marine Corps second-in-command, Gen. Eric Smith, to become the branch’s next leader, as The Hill reported.

Smith has been a leader in designing Force Design 2030, the planned overhaul of the service to adapt from a Corps “shaped by two decades of land wars into one able to compete against Chinese forces in particular,” as Marine Corps Times reported.
