The Connecticut National Guard is offering any current or retired member $500 if they can recruit someone to join the state’s Guard. “We need to think outside of the box when it comes to recruiting, especially for our military that has been a vital resource to our state and country in times of need,” Gov. Ned Lamont (D) said in a July 3 press release….

The Miami Herald looked at how South Florida bases are planning for the national security threat of climate change. “There’s a national security imperative to ensure that our installations, our commands and our missions are resilient,” said South Florida Defense Alliance Executive Director Rick Miller. “And the great thing about this program is it does it in collaboration with the communities.”
