Army recruiters will beef up outreach programs in California, Army Times reported. “If you want to compete, you’ve got to compete where the people are,” Mario Diaz, the Army’s deputy undersecretary, said Oct. 10 at the Association of the U.S. Army’s annual meeting, noting that enlistment is low in the state per capita. One planned approach is to enhance ROTC and JROTC programming, Diaz said….
Lendlease closed ground leases to develop new housing units at seven Army installations: U.S. Southern Command in Doral, Florida, Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pennsylvania, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, the Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts, Fort Hunter Liggett, California and Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The facilities will comprise Lendlease’s new Cadence Communities portfolio, according to a press release.
