House Committees to Mark Up Defense Policy, Spending Bills this Week

June 21, 2022

The House Armed Services Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. Eastern time for its annual marathon session marking up the National Defense Authorization Act. The hearing will be streamed online.

The House Appropriations Committee will meet at the same time to consider the fiscal year 2023 appropriations bill. That hearing will also be streamed online.

House appropriators meet Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern time to consider the spending bill for veterans affairs and military construction, also to be streamed online.

The full House may consider legislation this week to help veterans exposed to toxic chemicals, which the Senate passed last week, as On Base reported. The House has passed similar legislation in the past and appears likely to approve the Senate version.
