The House will consider the fiscal year 2023 defense authorization bill the week of July 11, CQ reported. As usual, the floor debate is likely to stretch for days and include hundreds of amendments.
The House Armed Services Committee’s bill authorizes up to $850.4 billion for the national defense budget, higher than what the House Appropriations Committee is currently planning for.
The Senate Armed Services Committee bumped the authorized spending level of its version of the NDAA up to $857.6 billion. It has not yet been considered on the Senate floor.
