The omnibus spending bill Congress is considering this week includes a big boost for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ medical programs, as Military.com reported.

The deal funds almost $119 billion for veterans medical care in fiscal year 2023 – which started Oct. 1 – a 22% increase over the previous fiscal year. It matches the administration’s budget request.

The VA expenditures in the bill total more than $300 billion, the largest VA budget ever, as Military Times noted.
