Ukraine Aid on the Way, Biden and Gen. Brown Say

April 25, 2024

President Joe Biden signed a $95 billion package Wednesday morning that provides aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. After a long delay, the House passed the package Saturday, and the Senate followed Tuesday.

“It’s a good day for America, it’s a good day for Europe, and it’s a good day for world peace, for real.  This is consequential,” Biden said Wednesday morning after signing the legislation, according to a White House transcript. “It’s going to make America safer. It’s going to make the world safer. And it continues America’s leadership in the world, and everyone knows it.”

DOD Moving as ‘Quickly as Possible’

The roughly $60 billion for Ukraine support will move out fast, White House and DOD officials said.

After the President signed the legislation, Joint Chiefs Chair Air Force Gen. CQ Brown said at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event that the Pentagon is “well postured” to “get capability to Ukraine as quickly as possible,” according to a DOD article.

A Stars and Stripes story outlined what systems are headed to Ukraine.
