Army Looking to Decontaminate Former Testing Ground in Maryland

New housing is being built in Maryland right next to Fort Detrick, where chemical weapons were once tested. This has left the land with contaminated ground water, as well as other concerns. The Army is determining how to help reduce the danger to new residents, which could potentially include systems that safely vent toxic gas from the ground, according to Military.com.

Coast Guard Museum Project Receives More Funding

The National Coast Guard Association board last month approved $40 million in funding for the planned National Coast Guard Museum in New London, Connected, The Day reported. Association President Wes Pulver said the funding and individual donations will help meet the targeted opening date in 2026.
