The leadership of the Fort Leonard Wood Region held its first Community Salute to Service to honor 60 South Central Missouri high school seniors for committing to serve in the U.S. military, SustainableOzarks.org reported. The Air Force plans to transfer a squadron that evaluates bombs and other weapons to Hill Air Force Base, Utah, from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., the Ogden, Utah, Standard-Examiner reported. According to the report the Air Force concluded the 86th Fighter Weapons Squadron should be relocated because most of its evaluations of air-to-ground weapons are conducted at Hill AFB, but most of its personnel are stationed at Eglin AFB…
Hazardous PFOA and PFOS toxins from firefighting foam and other chemical-based products have been found in groundwater not only at Luke Air Force Base but across Arizona, The Arizona Republic reported. At least 19 other Arizona water systems have found the same chemicals in their groundwater in the last five years a review of federal data and state documents found.
