August 18, 2019

The Army is announcing its call for nominations for its 4th annual Army Community Partnership Awards.
The fiscal 2019 awards, conducted under the authority of the assistant secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and the Environment, is an opportunity to recognize the significant impact community partnerships have made to readiness, modernization, and to the soldiers and families of the Army.
The Army Community Partnership Program promotes the pursuit of exceptional partnerships that inspire other commands and communities to pursue and develop partnership opportunities.
The FY 2019 Army Community Partnership Awards will feature partnerships between the Army and communities that have enhanced readiness, contributed to modernization, supported soldiers and their families, and improved relationships with the community.
For nomination eligibility, the term “command” includes active duty installations, National Guard armories, and Army Reserve centers and/or installations and the term “community” refers to a federal, state, or local government entity such as a city, county, or school district.
For the 2019 awards, competitive community partnerships will include any memorandum of understanding (MOU), memorandum of agreement, cooperative agreement, mutual aid agreement, and/or intergovernmental support agreements (ISGAs) signed into execution or approved within fiscal years 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
The award description, a nomination template, and a partnership nomination example are available to those interested in submitting for the awards.
The criteria to evaluate partnership nominations include improving or enhancing readiness; modernizing a service, system or other process; improving costs or other efficiencies; expanding capability; improving soldier and family lives; and improving community relations.
All nominations are due to the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (OACSIM) by Sept. 1, 2019. The selected partnership teams will receive invitations to the awards ceremony hosted by the Secretary of the Army on Dec. 3, 2019, at the Pentagon, Hall of Heroes.
