Installation Innovation Forum 2020 Innovators Recognition Seeks the New and Different

October 14, 2019

Is your defense community involved in a project or initiative to support an installation or military quality of life issue that represents a novel approach or an advance toward local improvement? If so, ADC wants to hear about it.
At Installation Innovation Forum 2020 scheduled Feb. 10-12 in San Antonio, Texas, ADC will highlight up to six innovative projects that demonstrate state-of-the-art approaches defense communities are using to support installations and military families, sustain military missions and promote defense-based economic development.
Projects selected to be part of the Innovators program will be recognized at IIF 2020 through: (1) a concurrent session dedicated to the project; (2) a general session including all project leads; and (3) a special ADC publication.
ADC will be accepting nominations for the Innovators program through Wed., Oct. 16. You must be an ADC member to nominate a project, which can be led by a community, nonprofit or private sector entity.
Submitted projects should:

  • Be new and different; we will consider older efforts, but they must not be widely known.
  • Demonstrate potential to positively impact military value; and
  • Be concrete and replicable, something ADC members, or at least a segment of defense communities, can implement.

In addition to looking for projects that are under way — or close to being implemented — the 2020 Innovators program also is seeking ideas for innovations that are still on the drawing board and may not be ready for implementation until sometime in the future.
More details, along with the nomination form, can be found on the IIF2020 website.
