Middle Georgia State University has partnered with Robins Air Force Base, Ga., to launch the Center for Software Innovation, “designed to identify software development projects that will elevate regional companies, nonprofits, startups and other organizations,” according to a press release. University President Christopher Blake said the “community benefits through more high-paying jobs in the area, more employers in the region and more opportunities for economic development.”…
The Harford County Office of Community & Economic Development in Maryland has opened a new outreach office in the Harford Business Innovation Center near Aberdeen Proving Ground. A partnership with the U.S. Army Futures Command Network-Cross Functional Team will allow for Shark Tank-style competitions and no-cost demo days held at the county’s “urban-industrial co-lab workspace.” Karen Holt, the county’s federal installation administrator, said it’s “an opportunity to think outside the box in the way we help warfighters in ways we’ve never done before,” according to APG News.
