DOD Announces 2023 REPI Challenge Projects

The DOD Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program recently announced its 2023 REPI Challenge recipients. The REPI program focuses on enhancing mission capabilities by promoting compatible land uses and improving military installation resilience to climate change and extreme weather events.

The awards went to 13 projects that will benefit 26 installations and the communities they call home, according to REPI leaders. The 2023 recipients, as described in the REPI announcement, are:

  • Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station & Camp Navajo, Arizona
  • Army Garrison–Hawaii, Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands, Marine Corps Base Hawaii
  • Pōhakuloa Training Area, Hawaii
  • Army Garrison–Hawaii: Makua Military Reservation, Schofield Barracks, Kahuku Training Area, Poamoho Training Area
  • Fort Huachuca, Arizona
  • Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington
  • Joint Region Marianas: Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam
  • Joint Region Marianas: Naval Base Guam, Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam
  • Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Warren Grove Range, Naval Weapons Station Earle, Sea Girt National Guard Training Facility, AEGIS Combat System Engineering Site, New Jersey
  • Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Pōhakuloa Training Area, Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Hawaii Island
  • Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Naval Base Coronado, Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, California
  • Marine Corps Base Quantico Shoreline Erosion, Virginia
  • Joint Base San Antonio Camp Bullis, Texas
