Edwards Air Force Base, California is now home to the largest ground-mounted solar array project on any U.S. Air Force installation in the world, according to an Air Force press release. “Only in America can we take barren land, embrace the power of the sun and create an engineering marvel,” said Brig. Gen. William Kale, Air Force Civil Engineer Center commander. “So, take the time to reflect, see the great work that was done, and understand the significance of this project and what it can lead to. A former bowling alley at Marine Corps Cherry Point, North Carolina has become the Cherry Point Public House, which a DOD press release described as “an on-base community with a modern, multi-purpose environment for personnel to enjoy and build comradery.” The new facility features an arcade, a gaming arena, darts, pool tables, a training room, a theater and self-serve tap bar. “The improvements are an upgrade, and I think my friends and I will make good memories here,” said Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Desiree Blanch.
