The Cobb Chamber’s Honorary Commanders Alumni Association in Cobb County, Georgia recently visited New London and Groton in Connecticut to visit the Coast Guard Academy, the Navy Submarine Base and the Submarine Force Museum. The trip included a Coast Guard cutter ride, lunch with cadets and a look inside the USS Nautilus, the Navy’s first nuclear-powered submarine, according to a report from the Cobb Chamber….

Officials broke ground recently on a new military working dog kennel at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, according to a press release. It will become the Air Force’s largest military working dog kennel, supporting several bases and federal agencies in the region. “This facility will serve as a testament of our appreciation for these incredible four-legged defenders and will enhance their training, well-being and overall effectiveness while serving alongside our troops,” said 316th Security Forces Group Commander Col. Michael Morales.
