A military spouse has won a preliminary court battle against Texas education officials who refused to accept her school counseling licenses from other states, Military Times reported. The Justice Department has filed a supporting statement in the case, saying Texas is in violation of the new Servicemembers Civil Relief Act provision that allows professional licensing portability for service members and their spouses….

The Center for a New American Security’s Brandon Archuleta wrote in The San Diego Union-Tribune about California legislation that would stop the state from fully taxing military pensions.
