Fort Irwin, California and the Silver Valley Unified Schools District entered into a new partnership to expand youth programs at the installation, such as athletics, tutoring, nutrition assistance and other services, according to a DVIDS story. It will “allow us to expand the programs and increase enrollment assistance offered from about 60 children to an additional 90, potentially,” district superintendent Jesse Najera said….

Air and Space Forces Magazine reported on the Air Force’s efforts to support quality of life at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, where airmen often report low morale because of long, cold winters. “Our airmen are some of the finest American citizens that you will ever meet,” Col. Kenneth C. McGhee, commander of the 91st Missile Wing. “And so every single airman, we put our arms around, and… we need to make sure we’re taking care of them.”
