Watch: What Makes Fort Meade Region a Great American Defense Community

November 9, 2023

ADC visited Maryland’s Fort Meade region last month to learn how a community came together to support their local installation. ADC spent the day with community organizations and base members to hear the story of how the post’s historic Kuhn Hall was handed over to the community, renovated and gifted back to Fort Meade as a state-of-the-art Education & Resiliency Center.

Watch their story.

The Fort Meade region was honored at this week’s Installation Innovation Forum as a 2023 Great American Defense Community, a program of the Association of Defense Communities, sponsored by USAA.
