Johnson Negotiating with White House on Ukraine Aid Package

April 12, 2024

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is negotiating with the White House on a package that would include additional aid to Ukraine along with Republican policy provisions to make it palatable to Johnson’s Republican colleagues, AP reported.

Johnson is traveling to Mar-a-Lago today to meet with former President Donald Trump. He “has been consulting him in recent weeks on the Ukraine funding to gain his support — or at least prevent him from openly opposing the package,” AP wrote.
