Appropriators Advance Draft Defense Spending Bill

June 6, 2024

The House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee signed off on its draft bill Wednesday, sending it to the full Appropriations Committee. Democrats oppose the measure, which would cut aid to Ukraine and restrict the Pentagon from enacting the Biden administration’s climate change initiatives, as Military Times reported.

The bill would also provide a pay raise to all service members, an additional raise for junior enlisted officers and a big boost to DOD innovation programs, along with other provisions On Base covered previously.
