Fort Campbell Continues Animal Control IGSA with County in Tenn.

Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden in Tennessee and Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel Christopher Midberry recently signed a 10-year Intergovernmental Support Agreement. The agreement, renewing a 2019 pact, continues Montgomery County Animal Care and Control’s management of Fort Campbell’s Stray Animal Program. The IGSA has led to a 30% annual cost reduction for Fort Campbell and provides resources for MCACC, Clarksville Online reported.

Va. Lawmakers to Meet Regarding Controversial Changes to Tuition Support

Virginia state legislators will hold a special session later this month to revisit changes to the state’s tuition support program that “provides a tuition waiver and an annual stipend to spouses and children of veterans who are killed, missing in action, taken prisoner or at least 90% permanently disabled as a result of military service or combat,” according to the Daily Press. The General Assembly recently scaled the program back because of its budgetary impact on the state and universities.
