Key DOD Nominations Will Have to Be Resubmitted to Senate

January 4, 2023

Now that the new Senate is in session, the White House will have to re-nominate several DOD nominations, including roles overseeing installations. The previous Senate did not confirm them before adjourning in December. They include:

  • Brendan Owens to be assistant secretary of Defense for energy, installations and the environment
  • Ravi Chaudhary to be assistant secretary of the Air Force for energy, installations and the environment
  • Lester Martinez-Lopez to be assistant secretary of Defense for health affairs
  • Laura Taylor-Kale to be assistant secretary of Defense for industrial base policy
  • Radha Plumb to be deputy undersecretary of Defense for acquisition and sustainment
  • Ronald Keohane to be assistant secretary of Defense for manpower and reserve affairs
  • Nickolas Guertin to be assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition

The Senate was able to confirm several other nominations late last year, as On Base reported last month.
