Air Force Offering Promotions, Decorations for Recruiting Friends

May 19, 2023

The Air Force will offer promotions and special ribbons for airmen and Space Force guardians who recruit others to join the military, Stars and Stripes reported. The promotions are meant “to inspire the next generation to serve in the Air Force and Space Force,” officials said.

The Army has awarded 104 recruitment ribbons to soldiers since launching a similar program earlier this year, Military.com reported.

Branches across the military are struggling to meet this year’s recruitment goals. If the Air Force falls short – as its top leaders say is likely – it will be the first time since 1999.
